This is where We meet the man behind Stech.
I was given a script that consisted of maybe fifty words.
It said things like "fight pages three through five".
So I was creating most of the material myself.
If you've ever seen the book Kris Silver printed it was a lot less than my pages.
Kris Silver didn't seem to grasp the concept of fair pay for fair work.
I was working full time at BurgerKing, and had bills to pay.
He didn't even want to buy me paper!
So I was buying supplies to do the book.
I would get paid after it was printed.
But I wasn't going to get any upfront money not even for materials.
So I had to work, which delayed the time I could draw and ink.
Which slowed down the book.
He got me an assistant who thought pontilism was as good as zipatone.
So I had to redraw ruined pages.
Which I had to buy more paper for.
That's when I started signing my artwork as Pay me the Artist.
Which eventually became Paime.
